Getting started
- Connect your piano. In Keyspace, open Settings › Piano and choose Pair a Bluetooth MIDI Keyboard. Digital pianos with Bluetooth MIDI, like the Roland FP series, appear in the list. Older pianos can use a Bluetooth MIDI adapter such as Yamaha UD-BT01 or CME WIDI.
- No Bluetooth? Plug the keyboard into a Mac, open Audio MIDI Setup › MIDI Studio › Network, and connect to your Vision Pro.
- Acoustic piano? Choose Microphone as the input in Settings › Piano. It works best for one hand or simple chords.
- Line up the keyboard. Sit at your piano, open Settings › Calibration › Calibrate, and press the lowest and the highest key three times each, with one fingertip at the front edge of the key.
Troubleshooting
The falling notes don't line up with my keys
Run Calibrate again with good lighting and your hands in view. Check that Settings › Piano › Keyboard size matches your piano. For the last few millimeters, use Adjust by Hand: move the outline with the buttons or drag the handles on the keyboard. Keyspace learns from your adjustments and starts the next automatic calibration from them.
The keyboard appears somewhere else when I come back
Keyspace pins the keyboard to your room. When you open it again, it shows "Finding your piano…" until Vision Pro recognizes the room, which usually takes a few seconds. If you moved the piano or you're in another room, calibrate again.
Keyspace doesn't hear my notes
Check that the piano shows as connected at the top of Settings, and that Bluetooth is on. Turn the piano off and on, then pair it again from Settings › Piano. A piano can only be connected to one device at a time, so disconnect it from other apps or devices first.
My purchase isn't unlocked
Make sure you're signed in with the Apple Account you bought Keyspace with, then choose Settings › Restore Purchase.
Hand tracking or world sensing was turned off
Open the visionOS Settings app, find Keyspace, and allow access to your hand movements and your surroundings. Keyspace needs both to line up the notes with your keys.
Requirements
- Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 26 or later. Light on your real keys and accessory widgets need visionOS 27.
- A digital piano or MIDI keyboard is recommended (25 to 88 keys). An acoustic piano works with the microphone, and the on-screen keyboard works for games and free play.
